Biographical / Historical

Dr. Osler Lister Thomas (1921-2009) entered Hong Kong University to study medicine at the age of 17. He enrolled in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corp as a member of the Field Ambulance before Japan invaded Hong Kong. In 1942, he escaped to Free China and joined the British Army Aid Group (BAAG) where he served as a Medical Officer. After the war, he continued to study and became a specialist in ear-nose-and-throat surgery. For a more secure life of the family, he migrated to Australia in 1960s.
