馬敘朝不僅是一位成功的商人，也是熱心公益、活躍社團的領袖人物。檔案保存了他參與多個商業組織、社團及慈善機構的文件包括香港中華總商會、四邑商工總會、五邑工商總會、台山商會、中區街坊福利會、東華三院、保良局等，當中有馬敘朝獲聘為這些機構的董事或顧問等的證書。 檔案中還有馬敘朝在 1920 年代至 1950 年代捐款給社團及慈善機構的來往信件和大批收據，包括賣旗日和救災捐款。

Besides being a successful merchant, Ma Tsui Chiu was an active and committed community leader. This series contains documents reflecting his involvements with various business associations, community and charitable organizations such as Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Sze Yap Commercial and Industrial Association, Five Districts Business Welfare Association, Hong Kong Toi Shan Association, Central District Kaifong Welfare Association, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Po Leung Kuk and others. Among the materials are certificates appointing him Member of the Board of Directors or Honorary Advisor of some of the above organizations. Also available here is a collection of correspondence and receipts pertaining to Ma’s regular donations made to a wide variety of organizations, on flag days and for disaster relief, in the period from 1920s to 1950s.
